Who we are
A specialist house, deliberately narrow.
Atlas Marine and Cargo Insurance writes high value shipping risks and nothing else. We do not sell general liability, we do not sell motor, and we do not attempt to be a market for every class of business. That narrowness is the point: it means every submission is read by an underwriter who has seen your commodity, your trade lane and your failure modes before.
Our clients are families relocating estates, private banks and refiners moving value, yacht owners and yards, museums, galleries, jewelers and collectors, medical manufacturers and hospital groups, and the traders and forwarders who move containers at scale.

Founded at the New York waterfront underwriting hull and cargo risks for transatlantic sail.

Opened the first dedicated specie facility, insuring bullion and bearer paper by air.
