Glossary

Nail to nail: Cover from removal of an object at origin through to reinstallation at destination.
Sue and labour: Reasonable expenditure incurred to avert or minimise a covered loss, reimbursed by the policy.
Warehouse to warehouse: Transit cover beginning and ending at the named premises, not just port to port.
Open cover: An annual contract under which individual shipments are declared as they occur.
Particular average: Partial loss affecting only one interest, borne by that interest alone.
CIF plus: Insured value calculated as cost, insurance and freight plus an agreed uplift for expected profit.
